Dispatchers working this shift work one day, then take a day off. That cycle continues twice more, and then the dispatcher has four days off. The four days-off fall on different days each cycle.
This configuration is common among firefighters, and is usually encountered among fire department comm centers. However, this shift requires that some type of sleeping quarters be provided, along with a schedule of when dispatchers work and sleep during the shift.
