In mid-2001 the staff of the Denver (Colo.) Police Department Communications Bureau performed an extensive state and national salary survey to obtain documentation supporting a request for a pay increase. Their resulting package of materials included several spreadsheets of key statistics comparing Denver (both in 2000 and 2001) with other cities. The material is instructive, not only because of its specifics, but in its organization, thoroughness, and the type of material included.
We digested the entire package and have posted most of the materials here for your use. Our thanks to Kelly Yeager who provided the original materials and allowed us to post them. Unless otherwise noted, the documents are in Web format suitable for viewing with a browser.update 8-2-2001
