911 Operator $2,338 - $3,413 per month

Pay Grade: 614-S Closing Date for Applications: This position is open only until filled. Duties: 100% written, qualifying performance. The Denver's Police Communications Bureau is looking for flexible, multi-task individuals to serve the community as 911 Operators. You'll perform telephone public contact work receiving emergency calls to the police department, fire department, ambulance services and similar emergency services as well as data retrieval work operating a computer terminal. You need a HS/GED and three years of public contact experience including one year of experience dealing with individual problems and applying policies, procedures, and/or legal guidelines. A combination of education and experience can substitute for the minimum experience, except for the one year of specialized experience. Data Entry is also required at 90 GWPM with 90% accuracy. This position requires a background check.

Police Dispatcher $2,817 - $4,260 per month

Pay Grade: 616-S Closing Date for Applications: This position is open only until filled. Duties: 100% written, qualifying performance. The Denver Police Department is seeking flexible, multi-task individuals to work as Police Dispatchers. These positions perform dispatch work for the department operating and monitoring communications equipment in response to police emergencies. Requires HS/GED and one year of full performance dispatching experience for a police department, fire department (full-paid or volunteer), or emergency ambulance service or two years of experience in emergency telephone public contact work which must have included one year of experience as a 911 emergency operator OR one year of experience as a paramedic (EMT-B) on an emergency ambulance. Typing at 30 GWPM with an 85% accuracy rate is required. A background check is also required for this position.
