Proclamation from the Commissioner

California Highway Patrol, Dwight "Spike" Helmick

April 11 - 17 has been designated as National Telecommunicator's Week. The men and women of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) who perform telecommunications duties serve as an indispensable link between our officers, the public and vital support services. The Communications Operators who provide radio, telephone and computer services to every CHP unit are to be commended for their dedication and professionalism. The reputation and image our department enjoys is due in large part to the excellent manner in which they perform their duties.

Too often the importance of our telecommunications personnel goes unrecognized and their services are taken for granted. I ask that all CHP employees join me in thanking these members of our organization for their valuable contributions.
