Non-Emergency Triage CenterIf a caller reports a non-emergent situation, the Emergency Triage Center transfers the caller to the Non-Emergency Triage Center, which continues screening the call. Patients are also referred to this system by first-responders who have responded to the scene.
Based on the caller's situation, the dispatcher here recommends alternate methods of medical service or treatment, or provides resources to assist the caller, such as non-emergency transportation. The dispatcher has the option of referring the caller back to the Emergency Triage Center if the situation has changed since the call was transferred.
