Guide for the Selection of Communication Equipment
for Emergency First Responders

In February 2002 the U.S. Department of Justice's Law Enforcement and Corrections Standards and Testing Program (LECSTP) published a huge guide for selecting communications equipment used by "first responders." The two-volume set is 486 pages, and contains specifications and photos of current radio gear of all types: portables, mobile, repeaters, etc. Without a doubt, it's the most comprehensive collection of information on purchasing radio equipment for law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies. updated 5-16-2002
