wow...I typed out a long reply and then managed to erase it! ugh! Anyhow, I am sorry, after reading over my post I realize it really is awful vague.
I recently attended a workshop put on by the state for PSAP managers. We discussed a lot of things, but it really left me with a lot of questions. first, we were told to train our dispatchers for Phase II. Other than rebidding, I am not sure what to train them on?
Also, I was told that I needed to add a wireless portion to my operations manual, but I am wondering what goes in there?
For my personal benefit, I would like to know how the phase II data will come in to me. Does it come in like lat and long on my GPS? I know that our mapping software and CAD will convert it and map the location, but if that is down, I would still like to be able to tell my responders how to get there. even if I only am giving them coordinates to type into their GPS units.
Sorry if I sound kind of ignorant. They just came and installed equipment for our Off Site MSAG, and to hook us up to the "state system" and I guess I thought they were going to better explain things to me, but they just installed the equipment and left. I found out what the process should be for sending letters from the Montana State 911 office website, but am really just wondering what's next?
thanks for the reply!
When I want to call you at work, do I just dial 911?
