Portable Radio Battery Maintenance

I'm looking policies/guidelines for maintaining portable radio batteries. Specifically, timeline for analyzing (how often), minimum allowable results (capacity, etc), rotating batteries through the charger, etc.

We don't specifically have a policy in place, but one of my people does the batteries for the dept.

I would recommend checking with a company that specializes in batteries because it would depend on what type of battery it is that would determine as to what to do with it. I checked with our local battery company & he gave us a quick rundown as to what needs what.
