APCO Conference Is Weeks Away
Seven Full Days of Classes, Meetings & Seminars
John Walsh Will Be Keynote Speaker
Social Events Allow Members to Mix & Talk

The issues, problems and politics of public safety dispatching will be the topic of the 65th annual conference of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) in Minneapolis, but the event also allows members to meet and talk to their peers in more informal surroundings to share solutions and war stories.
DISPATCH Monthly will attend this year's conference and bring you same-day, on-line coverage of the educational seminars, the company exhibits and breaking news as it happens. Our Web coverage starts Sunday, August 8 with preview stories and photos, and continues through Thursday with more coverage of the daily activities and social events.
This year's conference features a full line-up of education classes that begin on Friday, August 9th. The classes include comm center supervision, training officer, liability issues, customer service, fire dispatch, EMD manager and ADA sensitivity. The educational sessions begin Monday afternoon and continue through Thursday, covering almost every aspect of radio communications, 911, comm center administration, technical and personnel topics.
The conference's first general meeting will feature John Walsh, America's most famous--and successful--advocate for crime victim's, and the host of Fox's "America's Most Wanted."
On the social side, the much-anticipated MANAPCO night that is sponsored by companies who help support the conference, will feature a live lumberjack event, with chainsaw competitions, ax throwing and other Paul Bunyan events.
