Flag Lowered for Caring, Giving Dispatcher-EMT

Firefighters, EMTs and dispatchers in Luzerne County (Penn.) are in mourning after the death of Ryan Broghamer, saying he was a caring person who devoted himself to his community. Firefighters found Broghamer’s body inside his Jeep Cherokee early Tuesday when they arrived to investigate reports the vehicle was on fire in the parking lot of his apartment building. Fire investigators say they found nothing suspicious, but are awaiting the results of tests and other reports before determining the cause of death. Besides dispatching for Luzerne County 911, Broghamer was deputy director of the the Swoyersville Police Community Ambulance Association and served as an EMT. He also volunteered at the Maltby Fire Co. and Wyoming Hose Co. Black bunting was placed around the fire company building in honor of Broghamer. Read more here.
