A pair of Massachusetts State Police dispatchers were key investigators in the safe return of a kidnap victim and the arrest of the suspect. Dispatcher Leigha Genduso fielded a 911 call from an 18 year-old woman who was riding in the car of a 21 year-old man she met on-line. Upon realizing the man intended to kidnap her, she dialed 911, and Genduso tracked the moving car using the telephone network’s Phase II features. But in crowded traffic, and without a description of the car, officers couldn’t locate the victim. Finally, she jumped from the car and ran to a nearby police car. Afterwards, dispatcher Rick Teevens gathered together the bare information about the suspect and began searching law enforcement databases for a match.
