An Athens-Clarke County (Geo.) dispatcher struggled to make sense of a 911 caller’s description of what happened–a man had just come into the local community theater, fatally shot three persons and then fled. The caller was distracted and disoriented by what he had witnessed, and it took some direct questioning to focus him on the description, which he eventually gave in some detail. A second person eventually came on the line to provide even more detail before officers arrived. Univ. of George Prof. George Zinkhan is still on the run after police identified him as a suspect last week. Those who died included his wife and two men. Listen to the 911 call here.
