Director Heads Overseas to Teach Dispatching

Moving from Louisiana to Saudia Arabia might seem like a significant change, but Terrebonne 911 District director Mark Boudreaux says he’ll be right at home, training dispatchers for a major university complex in the city of Thuwal along the Red Sea. Boudreaux is a 13-year veteran of the comm center, and will spend three to six months on his teaching assignment, part of an APCO adjunct trainer program. The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology opens this fall, and will spark growth and development in the surrounding community, generating the need for a new, comprehensive public safety dispatching operation. Read more about his adventure here. See a map of his outpost after the break.

Boudreaux will teach public safety dispatching during a three to six-month assignment in Saudia Arabia.
