A Forth Worth (Tex.) purse snatch suspect is safe in jail after he was chased down by the victim and several other persons, all documented on the logging tape of a 911 call made by the victim from behind the wheel of her car. Val Renfro, 65, was at an Office Depot parking lot when the suspect grabbed her purse and ran. Renfro dived into her car, dialed 911 and headed after the man. She bumped him with her car at least once, and yelled at him, “Put the purse on the hood right now!” The suspect kept running, but several citizens joined the pursuit on foot and cornered the man, just as police arrived to arrest him.
