Tragic Shooting Claims Dispatcher’s Son

Police in Rock Hill (SC) are still investigating the shooting early Thursday morning that claimed the life of Donne Kimble, 19, the son of a York County sheriff’s dispatcher. Police know that several people were inside an apartment on West Main Street, and that a gun discharged. The bullet killed Kimble, and then traveled through the wall into an adjoining apartment. Residents of the apartment building told reporters that when they came outside to investigate the loud noise, they found people crying and saying that the shooting was an “accident.” Rock Hill PD said they recovered a handgun, but aren’t offering further details. WSOC-TV reports that Kimble’s mother was on-duty when the shooting occurred, and dispatched a forensic team to the crime scene without knowing that her son was involved.
