The Cleveland (Ohio) police department announced they have fired five-year veteran dispatcher Donna Yousef for not following policies and procedures when handling a 911 call last July. Public safety director Martin Flask said Yousef fielded a 911 call reporting that a man had been beaten and thrown into a pickup truck. However, she told the caller that since the truck had left, “We can’t go somewhere where we don’t know where they are. If they come back, give us a call.” Yousef had been on paid leave since shortly after the incident. The victim was later found dead. According to personnel records, co-workers and citizens had complained about Yousef’s performance before the murder. Read more about her firing here.
