A Toms River (NJ) police dispatcher has resigned his position after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges, in connection with police finding 60 dead dogs, cats, turtles and guinea pigs inside his home. The animals were found by a mortgage company official last April when he went to change the locks on the home where Matthew Teymant, 29, and his wife live. Officials said Teyment is the son of a Toms River police canine officer, and had previously been involved in animal rescue activities. He pleaded guilty to a single charge of animal cruelty and awaits sentencing. His wife Amanda pleaded not guilty. He resigned his dispatcher position after his court appearance. Read more here.
