Penn. Radio System May Be Completed This Year

Pennsylvania’s statewide public safety radio network still needs 347 low-height towers to fill in coverage gaps, officials say, but the 13-year project could be completed by the end of this year. The system was initially priced at $179 million, but the state will eventually pay M/A-COMM at least $368 million. The system is working in several counties, but 17 still don’t have coverage. A long newspaper article likens Pennsylvania’s system to the recently cancelled New York network. Read the article here.
