Officials in Henry County (Iowa) have discovered their CAD program has a programming glitch that reverses the location of many county addresses on the system’s maps. Planning and Zoning director Joe Buffington told a recent supervisors meeting the county paid $35,000 to Shield Technology Corp. for the software, but only recently learned that the software is programmed to put odd and even rural addresses onto specific sides of the roadways, but those rules are correct only in certain locations of the county. As a result, many addresses are displayed incorrectly when a caller dials 911. Read more about the situation here.
