Chris White and his pregnant girlfriend Sarah Wildflower got as far as the front porch of their rural house in Boulder Creek (N. Calif.) before they realized…she wasn’t going to make it to the hospital to deliver her baby. White dialed 911 and reached dispatcher Bill Burnett at the Santa Cruz Consolidated Communications Center, who talked him through the steps to become a father.
