Radio manufacturer M/A-COMM has sent a letter to New York state officials threatening to sue if the state does not promptly give final approval for construction of a state-wide public safety radio network. The state approved the original contract two years ago, but poor performance during system tests in two counties during 2008 caused the state to delay a full roll-out. Neither the state or M/A-COMM would release the company’s letter, but sources told the Buffalo News newspaper that it threatened to file a lawsuit if the state doesn’t give final approval for the full system build-out. Read more about the letter here, and another news article here.
