A 70 year-old Portage County (Ind.) woman held a burglary at gunpoint until police arrived, and described the entire incident to a county dispatcher during a 911 call. The woman sounds excited but completely intelligible during the incident. The man approached the rural home while she was chopping wood, and then pounded on the doors and windows after she ran inside. The suspect finally broke in, and the woman pointed the gun at him and told him to lie down–which he did. The man told police he had been chased by “gang members” and was seeking safety.
