NENA-APCO Issue Relay Training Package

In response to FCC requirements to train public safety dispatchers on handling Video/IP telephone calls from the hearing impaired, NENA and APCO have jointly issue a package of information that will be distributed to 6,900 PSAPs. The new video and IP relay services allow hearing impaired callers to reach an interpreter who will use sign language over a video link to communicate with the caller, and to then call the appropriate PSAP to provide the information to a dispatcher. The training package includes an overview of the relay services, frequently asked questions and a model standard. For more information, surf here.
