FCC Issues DTV Coverage Maps

With the February 2009 transition to digital TV (DTV) rapidly approaching, the FCC has issued a report and series of maps showing the coverage of systems across the country. The transition also marks the first availability for 24 MHz of spectrum in the 700 MHz band for many areas of the country, allowing public safety to build upgraded or new radio systems. First, the FCC has posted maps by region of the coverage areas of DTV stations. Second, they have posted maps of regions in the U.S. that will have significant coverage changes when DTV kicks in.
