Solano County (N. Calif.) officials happily accepted a $1 million donation from oil refining company Valero Energy Corp. to help build a county-wide public safety radio system. The money will be paid over four years, allowing the county’s seven cities to move forward on the Solano Emergency Communications Activity (SECA) project. Officials said the money will be used to upgrade existing systems and purchase a interop “black box” to connect the systems.
