Several radio problems have delayed York County (Penn.) fire agencies from using a new public safety radio system, including dead spots, poor battery life for portable radios and dropped transmissions. The county is moving communications to the M/A-COMM state-wide radio network, which has been the subject of criticism from other agencies in the state. One York County fire chief says that M/A-COMM technicians are on-site working on the problems, but haven’t been able to solve some of them.
