Judge: Attorney Can Listen to 911 Call

A Dane County (Wisc.) judge has agreed to allow an attorney for several media companies to listen to a logging tape of a 911 call made from the apartment of murder victim Brittany Zimmermann last April. Local newspapers, radio and TV stations want access to the call, which apparently contains noises or voices, but which police have not described. The calltaker who answered the call did not send police to investigate, and Zimmermann’s body was found later in the day. No suspect has been identified. Dane County Circuit Judge Richard G. Niess ordered that the attorney cannot divulge any information from the call or discuss it in any way. The judge has still not ruled on a request to make the call public.
