A Plant City (Fla.) woman who was abducted and put in the trunk of the suspect’s car managed to dial 911, but police said the call was very short and the location wasn’t transmitted to a PCPD dispatcher who answered. Jennifer Johnson, 31, was later found dead in an abandoned home. Capt. Darrell Wilson said the Plant City dispatcher “notified officers in the area” but otherwise had no way to track down the victim. “We did what we could,” Wilson said. The calltaker is a 3-year veteran and feels terrible about the outcome. “We wouldn’t be human if we didn’t feel any compassion,” Wilson told reporters. Johnson’s boyfriend is a suspect in the case.
