‘Call 911′ Show Renewed, Asks For Tapes

The Discovery Network has renewed the Call 911 reality TV show for a second season, this time for 40 episodes that will profile 911 callers, dispatchers and first-responders. Supervising producer Hani Shafi says the program is very popular among viewers, and has received positive reviews from the public safety dispatching community. Shafi says each show generally includes three incidents that are happy, sad–or just plain strange. The segments use the original 911 call logging tapes, which document the incident as it actually unfolds. The key players are highlighted by the film crew: the person who dialed 911, the dispatcher who answered the call, and the law enforcement, fire or EMS responders. Shafi asks that any agency who has appropriate 911 call tapes to e-mail him at hani@tomjenningsproductions.com or call (323) 363-2000.
