The FCC’s proposal to re-auction 700 MHz spectrum for a national public safety communications network is generating plenty of input from companies, cities, counties and public safety organizations, raising questions and issues on the system’s proposed administration and technology. The FCC attempted to auction the so-called “D Block” spectrum earlier this year, but just a single bid was received, and it didn’t exceed the FCC’s minimum bid requirement. Read the FCC’s latest auction proposal (Docket 06-150) here, and search for comments on the proposal here (enter the Docket number “06-150″ in the top search field “Proceeding”). Read the comments submitted by a group of cities here. In the meantime, Cyren Call has asked the FCC to consider questions about the group’s relationship with the Public Safety Spectrum Trust (PSST) and how Cyren Call should be paid (download, pdf).
