McCain Campaign, 911 Calls Intersect

The final weeks of the Presidential campaign have yet one more surprise, as logging tapes of two 911 calls have surfaced from someone who apparently is Joe McCain, the candidate’s brother. On the tape, an unnamed Alexandria (Virg.) dispatcher answers the call, and a man with a familiar voice begins by saying, “It’s not an emergency…” The man then goes on to ask why traffic is stopped on the Interstate highway. When the dispatcher asks, “Are you calling 911 to complain about the traffic?” the caller says, “**** you,” and then hangs up. The dispatcher called back and heard voicemail saying, “Hi, this is Joe McCain. I can’t take this message now because I’m involved in a very important political project.” Within minutes the man called back, saying “Somebody gave me this riot acct about the violation of police.” Listen to the 911 calls and Joe McCain’s remorse here.
