Audit of Center Gives Recommendations

It’s all about priorities at the Corvallis (Ore.) Regional Communications Center, where an APCO audit of the operation found they need additional staffing to put four dispatchers on-duty at all times, instead of just two late at night. Dispatchers should also be completely cross-trained in law enforcement, fire and EMS dispatching tasks, the center should hire a permanent training supervisor and radio coverage should be improved. The city’s Human Services Committee asked center director Jon Sassaman to take APCO’s 37 recommendations, prioritize them and return with that list. Read more about the audit here.
