Burglars Caught by Radio Chatter

Two burglars in Athens (Tenn.) were caught in the act by workers at a Wal-Mart store, who heard the pair communicating with each other over a two-way radio, and then alerted police. The employees said they began hearing other voices around 2 a.m. on the portable business radios they carry during their shifts. The voices identified nearby stores, and one male voice said he was parking near a semi-trailer. The Wal-Mart employees called police, who stopped the parked driver, but a second suspect at the rear of the building escaped. Police found the back door pried and alarm wires cut. According to the employees, the last radio transmission from one suspect was, “Five-O! Five-O!”
