The issue of consolidation has become one of the key issues in the election of a new Niagara County (NY) sheriff. In an interview with a local newspaper, candidate Ernest Palmer notes that the county decided to merge local agencies into a single comm center three years ago, but, “It didn’t quite work out that way.” He says the county failed to get everyone on board before the move, and none of the local agencies wanted to participate. He also criticized the lack of redudancy for the county’s 911 system. Read his entire interview here.
