The Los Angeles Fire Department has released tapes of just four of the hundreds of 911 calls that their dispatchers handled after the crash of a commuter and freight train on Sept. 12th. A press release says the calls sparked the dispatch of over 100 LAFD engine, truck and rescue companies, along with over 100 private ambulances. Interestingly, on one call the passengers immdiately knew they had struck a freight train, and were able to clearly give the dispatcher information despite their serious injuries and the chaos. Listen to the four calls here.
