When a container truck loaded with phosphoric acid barrels tried to navigate under a viaduct in Huntington (WV) this morning, the top of the container struck the structure, causing it to buckle. The driver noticed the damage and immediately pulled over–right in front of the Cabell County E911 center. Dispatchers moved to a back-up center while firefighters examined the damage. The firefighters learned the barrels weren’t affected by the container’s buckling, and the chemical was a very low concentration. The truck was moved to a less-inhabited area and the barrels were transferred to another truck. Read more about the incident here.
