NY Issues Radio System Default Letter

In connection with on-going problems in building the first phase of a state-wide radio network, New York state’s chief information officer has written a contract default letter to radio manufacturer M/A-COMM, giving them 45 days to finalize the system for testing. Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart wrote that M/A-COMM had contended the system in the two first-phase counties was ready for testing, but the state’s technicians found it was “unsatisfactory and unacceptable.” An audit issued two weeks earlier recommended the state terminate the contract if M/A-COMM cannot present a workable first phase before the end of the year.
