Follow-Up:Injured Director Facing Tough Recovery

Whitman County (Wash.) 911 director Patti VonBargen has been moved from ICU to a regular hospital room in Kansas City (Mo.), one week after she was struck down and seriously injured by a motorist as she attended the annual APCO conference. VonBargen has serious injuries to one leg an arm, and faces a 3-4 week stay in the hospital until she’s able to fly back to Washington state. Her family has flown in to be with her, and she’s receiving lots of support from the Missouri and Washington chapters of APCO, along with help from the 911 CARES program. You can help out VonBargen with donations through 911CARES or directly to a fund set up for her: Patti VonBargen Donation Fund, c/o US Bank, 301 E. Main St., Pullman WA 99163.
