Two Lake Shore (Penn.) volunteer fire officers have been suspended with pay from their jobs at the Erie County 911 center after police charged them with pulling fire alarms.. Chief Brian Salvatore and assistant chief Robert Burt were among seven firefighters accused of generating the false alarms at pull stations located at three fire departments last weekend. The fire alarm boxes are mounted to the stations so that citizens can report fires when no one is at the fire station. Police say they are baffled at the motive behind the false alarms.
