Sheriff, Center Debate the Cost of Dispatching

The Salt Lake County (Utah) sheriff and the Valley Emergency Communications Center have debated the costs of dispatching services for several years: VECC says the sheriff isn’t paying enough for the services being provided, while the sheriff claims he’s being charged too much. Once the actual costs are known, the sheriff could decide to create his own comm center. Read more about the debate here.
