County Prepares for Family’s Lawsuit

A Greenville (SC) family has sued Oconee County, claiming comm center mistakes contributed to the drowning death of their daughter in June, 2007. The lawsuit claims that Crissa Powell, 11, died at Hartwell Lake while visiting friends. A 911 call was placed, the lawsuit states, but dispatchers failed to provide adequate location information to EMS units that were dispatched, and also did not transfer the 911 call to the Oconee Medical Center. Read more about the lawsuit here.
