Veteran 911 Director Arrested–Child Porn

A long-time administrative employee of Kanawha County’s (WV) Metro 911 has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography after a tip led police to his office and home computers. James Sorgman, 49, was suspended after the arrest, and later fired. According to sheriff’s deputies, West Virginia State Police received a tip, which they relayed to a regional task force, whose members traced Internet activity to Sorgman. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for his home and confiscated computer equipment, and later also seized his office computer. Deputies said their searches found photos of juvenile females in sexually suggestive poses, both on hard disk and printed. Sorgman had been a 911 employee for 16 years, officials said, most recently on a street renaming and mapping project.
