City Hiring–First Time in 5 Years

The city of Toledo (Ohio) is hiring dispatchers–the first time they’ve accepted open applications in over five years, officials said. Starting pay is $29,889, and the city expects several hundred people to apply. Capt. Leo Eggert explained that the city has only allowed existing city employees to apply for the job, but since about 2001 has not opened up the process to other applicants. “With the current economic climate, I expect there will be a large number of applicants,” he said.
