Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley has signed an Executive Order to create a statewide interoperability program that will create a 700 MHz system for local, state and federal agencies anywhere within the state. The Order will begin the process of issuing an RFP for vendor bids, create a state level project management office, and use nearly $23 million in grants to fund fiber optic, tower and other projects to support the project.
