A hang-up 911 call didn’t generate a police response in New Albany (Ind.) after a woman dialed for help in the face of a home invasion robbery. An armed man confronted the woman, who managed to make a 911 call during which there was screaming and the sound of the suspect’s voice. But the call was disconnected for some reason and police did not respond. After 30 minutes the woman, who had been tied up by the robber, freed herself and called her parents, who then contacted police. Read more about the mix-up here.
