A Mountain View (N. Calif.) brother and sister were found shot to death inside their home, and investigators later learned that a 911 call had been placed from the house an hour earlier, with a woman whispering that an intruder was inside. Police said the cellular 911 call came at 3:54 a.m. and was routed to the California Highway Patrol regional comm center, where a dispatcher tried to obtain basic information. However, the call was dropped after the dispatcher learned the caller was in Mountain View and tried to transfer the call. Press reports say MVPD was still investigating the call when they received reports of shots being fired at 4:53 a.m. Police say they found the brother and sister, ages 27 and 24, inside the home. Press reports didn’t say why police weren’t able to trace the original 911 call to the victims’ home, or how officers located the victims from the second phone call.
