Ball State University (Ind.) has posted an on-line survey as one of the first steps in a 3-year, $2.5 million project to improve PSAP training. According to the university, the faculty group working on the project will eventually produce a DVD that can be used for independent study, “to improve awareness, performance, management and planning skills of essential communication personnel, including 911 dispatchers, on-scene incident commanders and public information officers.” The group will also create an 8-hour module that will include hands-on training using tabletop exercises and other techniques. Read the announcement press release here, and take the survey here.
