Dispatcher Shot In Domestic Dispute Stand-Off

A Montcalm County (Mich.) Central dispatcher was shot and wounded last Tuesday by her boyfriend during a domestic violence incident. Tracy Larson, 41, was shot in the abdomen and beaten by Joseph Simones, 50, who later shot and killed himself. Kent County sheriffs deputies along with Grand Rapids police officers provided tactical assistance during the incident. They say Larson dialed 911 for help after being shot, and stayed on the phone during much of the incident. Deputies moved in after Larson began losing consciousness.
