Center Employees Arrested for Mis-Spending Money

The director of the Nicholas County (WV) 911 system and his administrative assistant have been arrested and charged with using a county-provided credit card to pay for car repairs, medications and stays at a hotel. State Police arrested Alfonso Derito Jr. and Robin Christine Evans when they reported to work at the center last week. Police said that after they made the purchases, they falsified the credit cards bills to hide their actions. However, they still left a paper trail, police said. Derito was charged with three felony counts of falsifying county accounts, and Evans is charged with one count. The purchases were made since Nov. 2007. Both were released on bail.
