A Salt Lake City (Utah) 14 year-old girl made over 1,650 calls to 911 over a four-month period, police say, using an two different unregistered cellular phones to evade a quick arrest. Finally, dispatchers were able to narrow down the girl’s location from the receiving antenna site, and heard distinctive music in the background. Because it was a nighttime call, officers were able to prowl the area looking for lights on, and listening for the music. Dispatchers continued to relay information to the officers, who eventually found the teen and arrested her. The current prank 911 record is held by a northern California man, who is credited with making over 27,000 calls over a 10-month period last year.
